People tend to forget the concept of Emulation, specialy on a PlayStation3, there is 0% of native hardware envolved, not to mention PS2 Classics wasnt developed to acomodate a large library of games, so dont expect 100% PlayStation2 Perfection, you will expect incompatibilities, improper animations and other software problems, not present on native hardware. or just small ones (but enought to takedown the publishing of the game) and other times is because the "quality control" team found multiple problems.

Sometimes is just because sony did not have the license from the original company that made it (the other company owns it, but there is no legal agreement with sony). there is not a single reason why a specific game was not published in the store if a game was published in the store it means it "should" work 100%Īnd the ones not published in the store. Think in all this like if are very strict rules. and they uses to review it (to prepare a CONFIG for it or improving the ps2_netemu emulator) that quality control team sometimes misses some problem (small ones) and the game reaches the store without them noticingīut when this happens people reports the problem in the official blogs, etc. There are some exceptions, lol, because you know.

for the consumer is not aceptable at all if the game has some problem People is paying for it, so the game should work perfect. So is virtually imposible to exist a "PS2 classic", PS1 classic" or "PSP remaster" with problems published in the official PSN store that quality control is very strict, because they cant sell a "product" that is faulty is if the game is an official "PS2 classics" this assures us it has passed the "quality control" of sony team they made before publishing it Start off with native resolution and see if the framerates are decent and scale it higher from there if u want.Click to expand. What i mean with this. Use DX11 hardware mode, but don't scale the resolution too high. Also make sure your laptop is plugged in and that it is on high performance in the power settings. Then make sure the MTVU speedhack is enabled and in the GSDX plugin menu, enable allow-8bit textures. I suggest downloading PCSX2 1.5 here(the top one): The GTA games are not easy to emulate but your laptop should handle it decently. GPU power comes into play usually when you want to start upscaling a lot. That takes a lot of processing power.Īlso, with PCSX2, your CPU is the most critical component, not your GPU. Well the year the game came out does not matter since you aren't just playing a 2002 game, you are actually emulating the actual hardware (PS2) to play it.

PS: If the emulator doesn't work, would the direct PC port be a better bet?

This is my current/last config I tried.Īny help or advice is appreciated! Thank you all and I hope I can play this game. So what's wrong, the laptop or the config? Will I be able to run other GTA games? I have tried openGL and DirectX and both give me the same result of 50% run speed.

Is my computer just not able to or is my emulator not configured correctly? You can see the full specs on the link provided. Thought for sure GTA:VC would run just fine off my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 since it's a pretty beefy card for a laptop, but it only runs at 50%. Now Vice City came out in 2002 and my computer is a new 2017 model and a gaming model at that. I got the PCSX2 emulator to run Dragon Quest V no problem. Tired to submit several time, but still kept getting that error. Now to start, yes I did try the PCSX2 forums, but they were down and this is all I got when I tried to post.
